Jewish Visitor in Year 2
Last half term, as part of our RE curriculum, the whole school looked at different aspects of the Jewish religion.
This included looking at the bar mitzvah ceremony, the Torah, Shabbat, Sukkah, the exodus of Moses, and Shema – affirmation of the Jewish faith. Since this is a religion that the pupils would vary rarely get the opportunity to experience first-hand we organised for some of our pupils to visit a synagogue and for a visitor from the synagogue to come into school to share different aspects of his religion.
So in year 2 we joined in with the celebration of the Shabbat. Look at our pictures to see how much we enjoyed it.
