Key Stage One have enjoyed a fantastic Science Investigation Day! In the morning they met Turbo Tom; a mad scientist, who taught the children about circuits, light and how fires spread! In Year 2 they then investigated which material would best protect an egg, linked to previous learning about Amelia Earhart, they had to show incredible amounts of perseverance as their eggs smashed and their ideas had to be rethought. In Year 1 they dissected flowers and investigated the different parts of the flower and invested how flowers grow. In the afternoon Year 1 and 2 were put into mixed teams and were given a challenge; to investigate which ingredients make the best slime! They used lots of different things to mix into slimes of all different consistencies before deciding on which was best. The children were definitely inspired by the day and there are lots of children whose dreams were nurtured into being possible scientists of the future!
