Our current topic in Science is: Animals including Humans.

Today the children were set a modelling teeth challenge.  The children worked in small groups. They were given different tools to represent the jobs of different teeth. They had tweezers, scissors, forks and plastic building bricks. The also had a banana and biscuits.

The children worked in their groups to model the action of their teeth eating, biting, chewing and tearing food using the different tools.

The children then identified the best tool which matched the functions of which tooth type such as Incisor, Canine, Molar and Premolar.

This is what the children found out:

Tweezers – Canine – scissors – Incisors – Fork – premolars and the building blocks were the molars.
