We have been waiting for 2 weeks for the butterflies to emerge from their chrysalises. This morning the children in Reception were VERY excited to see that all the butterflies had successfully emerged and we now have 5 healthy butterflies. We fed the butterflies and observed them carefully, some children drew pictures and we talked more about how the butterflies feed and their lifecycle.

We will release them in the morning so they can continue their life and maybe lay eggs of their own!
