For homework, Year 4 have have been asked to take part in the 'What's your story, Chorley?' competition.  All children in Chorley can enter and there are prizes for each age group as well as overall winners and commendations.    All entries will be put on display in Chorley Library with winning entries published in the Chorley Guardian!

For the competition, you have to produce a piece of writing around the theme of Chorley.

You might:

  • choose a part of Chorley that is important to you and describe it as a description or poem
  • research an aspect of Chorley life or history and write a factual piece about it
  • imagine what Chorley might be like in the future or interview someone about how it was in the past
  • research any person who has been important in the town or who has lived in Chorley all their life
  • or any other idea you have!!

So far, Samira has written a fantastic poem imagining what Chorley might be like in the future.  Zoe and Molly have also written super poems about the town in which they live.  We are looking forward to seeing the rest of the entries this week.

Don't forget Year 4- competition entries need to be in by Wednesday 6th April at the latest!
