In Year 4, we love reading and listening to a good class novel!  We have a competition running called 'The Book Games' where the books we read compete against each other.  In Autumn term, we read The Witches by Roald Dahl versus 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' by C.S Lewis.  We enjoyed both books, but after a closely run vote, The Witches came out on top as the winner.  We are now reading 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl and 'The Iron Man' by Ted Hughes.  Here are what some Year 4 children think so far of the books.......

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

"The characters are described really well, so you can imagine them in your head!" - Annabell

"When I started reading it, I didn't want to put the book down!"- Alfie

"It's a funny story- it makes me laugh a lot.  Augustus Gloop is very funny, because he is so greedy!"- Zoe

The Iron Man

"The story builds up and it gets really exciting!"- Eddie

"It's a mystery and you don't know what's going to happen next"- Curtis

"The author uses good description.  It feels like I'm actually there in the story!" - Molly

Which book wins?  Year 4 will decide!
