We Nurture Children’s Dreams
At Gillibrand, we believe that every child has the potential to change the world. Our vision is rooted in the belief that education should inspire, empower, and ignite ambition.
Gillibrand children aspire to leave a legacy and make a positive difference to others. They push the boundaries of what is possible, striving to be the best they can be. We create an environment where children are encouraged to explore their passions, embrace challenges, and follow their dreams with confidence and self-belief.
Through courage, perseverance, and a strong sense of purpose, our pupils grow into resilient, curious, and compassionate individuals—ready to make their mark and fulfil their potential.
Our School Vision: We Nurture Children’s Dreams
“Gillibrand children aspire to leave a legacy in the world and make a difference to others. They push the boundaries of what is possible to be the best they can be. They are encouraged to explore their passions and interests. They embrace opportunities to follow their dreams with confidence and self-belief. They are courageous and persevere to fulfil their potential.”
At Gillibrand, our approach to education goes beyond the academic. We are committed to recognising and nurturing each child’s individual talents, interests, and aspirations. To support this, we maintain a live database of every pupil’s dreams and ambitions, as well as their personal passions and interests. This allows us to create a responsive and inclusive curriculum enriched with meaningful opportunities tailored to the children in our school at a specific time.
For example:
-
When a child expressed a dream of becoming an ice cream van driver, we arranged for a real ice cream van to visit school. The child helped to serve ice cream to peers and staff—bringing their ambition to life and developing their confidence and sense of purpose.
-
During Sports Week, we welcomed a visit from Wigan Warriors in response to the growing interest in rugby among our pupils, providing an aspirational and inspiring experience for our young sports enthusiasts.
This personalised approach not only enhances pupil engagement but also helps us identify any gaps in experiences and provide opportunities that may not be accessible outside school. From after-school clubs to curriculum enrichment and visits, our planning is strategically aligned with the interests and needs of our pupils.
Our staff-led after-school clubs are also carefully designed based on this pupil interest database, ensuring a diverse and ever-evolving programme that reflects the passions of our children—whether that’s sports, music, coding, dance, enterprise, or art.
Through this tailored provision, we fulfil our commitment to:
-
Developing pupils’ talents and interests
-
Broadening horizons and raising aspirations
-
Promoting rich personal development opportunities
At Gillibrand, children know their dreams matter—and we walk beside them, helping to bring those dreams to life.
